Biography
(Chief Technology Officer, Persistent Systems, Inc.)
Dr. Siddhartha Chatterjee (Sid) began his tenure at Persistent Systems in 2015. As Chief Technology Officer for the company, he is responsible for technology leadership both externally and internally. This includes formulating and driving a technology-centric business strategy, anticipating technology demands in the market place and formulating suitable responses, articulating Persistent’s point of view to the market, providing technology leadership internally, and enhancing the technical capability within the Company.
Prior to Persistent, Sid was with IBM for 13 years during which, he has held multiple technical, strategic, managerial, and executive positions across IBM Research, IBM Systems & Technology Group, and IBM Global Technology Services. His most recent role was as the Vice President for development and delivery integration of IBM’s SoftLayer acquisition.
Sid holds a B. Tech. (Honors) degree in Electronics and Electrical Communications Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur and a Ph.D. in Computer science from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, U.S. He has also been a visiting scientist at the Research Institute for Advanced Computer Science (RIACS) in Moffett Field, CA, an assistant and associate professor of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina, and an adjunct faculty member at the University of California, Duke University, and the University of Texas. He is an ACM Distinguished Member, an IEEE Senior Member, and a Sigma Xi member.
