Bio
Complex Networks & Systems
Elise is a Ph.D. student in the Center for Complex Networks and Systems Research, School of Informatics and Computing, Indiana University. Her track of study is Complex Systems, with minor in Computational Linguistics. Her Ph.D. advisor is Professor Yong-Yeol Ahn. Previous to joining the program, she received Bachelor's degree from Sun Yat-sen University in 2014 and 2015, majoring in Information Science and Anthropology. She is interested in how people (think they) understand the world through language and cognition. Her recent work uses computational linguistics methods to study narrativity and narrative structures.
