If you publish peer-reviewed research, you will be asked to referee for journals. Peer-review is a core tenant of academic life. In this short workshop, we will go over the mechanics and strategies of reviewing: accepting invitations, reading and giving timely and specific constructive feedback. We will try to help you avoid being the dreaded “Reviewer 2.” As a follow-up to this workshop, you will be assigned a paper within your interest area for the journal Network Science, and you will get feedback on your submitted review. Your review may be forwarded to the author, at the discretion of the action editor.
